A New Perspective on an Old Issue
Medicine is just beginning to link chronic infections to human disease, but doctors who practice functional medicine have known for decades what current research is now proving: Infections are at the heart of most human illness.
Take a look at this study on the prevalence of the bacteria C. pneumoniae. Here are the infection rates in several countries based on antibody studies:
- Finland: 70% – 100%
- Japan: 59% – 73%
- Israel: 31% – 74%
- Singapore: 65% – 75%
These percentages represent the total population who has had C. pneumoniae.
Infections with this bacterium are associated with; atherosclerosis, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, arthritis, rosacea and other diseases. This is not a 1 to 1 correlation, but there is a strong and growing link between infection and common illnesses.
We all get infections. Infections are extremely common with a multitude of types being discovered each year. Many people have had C. pneumoniae and never knew it. This is a good thing, because the immune system was strong enough to fight it without a struggle.
Most chronic infections such as mold, yeast, protozoans, spirochetes, viruses and mycoplasma are not affected by antibiotics and some actually grow stronger after a person has used antibiotics. So what can be done?
Only a strong and balanced immune system can naturally manage or control the many organisms we come in contact with each day. Achieving this balance is different for each patient.
Health Resources uses state of the art labs and bio-meridian analysis to test and track patients starting points and progress during therapy. We have specialized in chronic infections and illnesses for over 30 years.
After your initial exam we will review your case and discuss the options available to you to restore your strength and continue living a healthy life.
